They have to abide by Islamic law or Shariah , which actually governs all spheres and activities of society and life. From banking to charity , from women to environment , it all belongs to it. Adam was the first human in this world and the first prophet of Islam among mankind . And the last and final prophet is Muhammad , who appeared for the entire creation from the Creator. [30] By the 8th century, the Umayyad Caliphate extended over a vast territory from Iberia (Spain) in the west to the Indus River in the east. The 8th to 13th centuries are traditionally called the Islamic Golden Age . Historically, during the Abbasid Caliphate , the Muslim world was at the peak of scientific , economic and cultural development. [31] [32] [33] Islam spread mainly through proselytism and conquest . Conquests occurred by separate empires , such as the Ottoman Empire , and conversions occurred with Islamic missionary activities [34] and under the influence of new conquests. Muslims belong to two main sects , Sunni (80-90%) or Shia (10-20%). [35] Basically all non- Shia are counted as Sunni (Muslim) . Sunni Islam is basically a combination of many Islamic ideologies. Also, some Muslims do not classify themselves as Shia Sunnis, they do not believe in the division of Islam. They take the Qur'an and Hadith as their source in light of these ( Ijma and Qiyas) .) practices Islam and tries to make himself a pure Muslim. However, they believe that Ijma and Qiyas are not acceptable on the clear guidance of Quran and Hadith. And they think that all Muslims should unite and consider their religion as Islam and identify themselves as Muslims . Indonesia is the largest Muslim majority country , with 13% of the world's Muslims living here.
